Akin, a brilliant and curious young boy, has cause to spend his holiday in the village with his paternal grandmother.

During a fishing expedition with his friends, he sustains a wound from a crab bite on his finger. His grandmother takes him to the only available clinic in the village to prevent the wound from being infected. Akin encounters so many surprises about medical practice at the clinic which to him seem to be a far cry from what obtains in the city. Lapo, his uncle who is an official of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, is informed and swings into action to save the situation. More surprises are discovered! Doctor Segun Is guilty; Chief Ezego Malkudi is fingered; but kudos to Akin for being conscious of his environment.

Narrated in an educative and instructive manner, the reader is made to understand that no single individual is too young to make an impact in society.
