A land ravaged by drought results in the death of some animals while human beings run away in search of food. The land almost becomes desolate when a sonorous bird announces the discovery of a big body of water somewhere in the bush. Excited by this news, the animals make a mad rush to the pond thinking that it will serve as a stopgap relief to them until they experience another rainfall. Their hope is however dashed when they discover that a bush pig has tenaciously occupied the pond, denying others any access.

What attempts do the animals make to possess the pond and how successful are these attempts?

How not to be greedy or underrate a fellow creature are the major lessons of this story.
