A book like this, brilliant in conception and execution, focusing on the life and works of one of our major writers, could not arrive too soon. Since 1996 when she first burst on the literary scene with her first novel, The last of the strong ones, Akachi Adimora-Ezeigbo has hardly allowed a year to pass without bringing out another book, season after season almost without break, churning out children’s book as well as adult fiction, stage plays along with poetry collections, academic essays and books of literacy criticism. In some years even, more than one publication of hers would come into the market – as for instance in 2006 when she released three books; four in 2009; and the following year, in 2010, a record output of seven new titles!
