Basic Science and Technology for Primary Schools (Information Technology) Books 1-6 are written based on the new Universal Basic Education/National Educational Research and Development Council (UBE/NERDC) curriculum on computer education.

The STAN Basic Science and Technology for Primary Schools is a Universal Basic Education (UBE) series, which consists of six books and workbooks with two accompanying volumes of Teachers’ Guide.

The new series completely covers the 9-year curriculum for Basic Science and Technology developed by the Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC) particularly for the attainment of the Education for All (EFA) Goals, the critical targets of the National Economic Empowerment and Development Strategies (NEEDS), and the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).

The books contain clear and colourful illustrations to facilitate learning for children at a very early stage.
The textbooks are written in simple language that is easy to read and understand. Activities and exercises are provided at the end of each chapter to assist the teacher in evaluating pupils’ performance based on the objective at the beginning of the chapter.

The books are written by members of the Science Teachers’ Association of Nigeria (STAN), who have many years of teaching experience and are drawn from different parts of the country.
