Fact and Fiction in the Literature of Nigerian Civil War

1,500

First published in 1991, twenty – one years after the end of the Nigerian Civil War, and updated in 2019, Fact and Fiction in the Literature of the Nigerian Civil War is a critique of the literature by writers on that devastating war. Is the available literature based on actual facts of the events of the war or are they fused with individual perceptions and imaginations? Are there some forms of manipulation of the reality of the war to suit the subjective views of the writers?

This book presents the varying degrees of technical sagacity, the creative achievement and emotional quality of fiction and reality displayed by these writers in their works concerning the war.
