Islamic Studies for Senior Secondary Schools is a three-book series written in line with the new curriculum for Islamic Studies developed by the Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC) to guide students through the topics prescribed in preparation for the Senior School Certificate Examinations.

Each series is divided into three sections namely: Hidayah (section one), which comprises the Qur’an, Hadith and Tahdib; Fiqh (section two) which comprise of Tawhid, Ibadah and Mu’amalat; and finally, Tarikh (section three) which is made up of Sirah, the spread of Islam to West Africa and the contributions of Muslims to world civilisation.

At the end of each chapter are exercises to test the students’ level of understanding as well as an appendix to provide additional information for teachers.

The author, B. Aisha Lemu MON, FNAE is a seasoned and experienced educator, who has been involved in the conceptualisation and development of Islamic education at various levels of Nigeria’s educational system.
