Basic Technology for Junior Secondary Schools is a series designed in accordance with the new curriculum for Basic Technology developed by Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC) for the Nine – Year Basic Education Programme.
The series covers synthetic and natural materials, wood, metals, plastics and ceramics, energy and machines necessary as the bedrock for a successful technology development.
Book One, the first of the three books meant for the three years of Junior Secondary Education (now Upper Basic Education), has been written in a simple and clear language. There are several illustrations, practical projects and class exercises to aid learning and understanding.
The authors are seasoned and experienced educators who have been involved in the conceptualisation and development of technical education at the various levels of Nigeria’s educational system.
