Civic Education for Junior Secondary Schools  Book 1 (with Security Education)

Civic Education for Junior Secondary Schools Books 1-3 are written according to the syllabus designed for the Upper Basic Education developed by the Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC).

Whilst putting the recommendations of the NERDC and the desire to attain the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) content within a reasonable time in perspective, the books are built on the foundation laid in Civic Education for Primary Schools for the Lower and Middle Basic Education.

The introduction and inclusion of security education to the contents of the books is aimed at helping to build morally sound and upright citizens who would defend, protect and ensure the promotion of the political and socio – economic development of Nigeria.

Each book is accompanied by a Workbook and a volume of Teachers’ Guide for the Upper Basic Education.
