First published in 2016, Casebook on Law Banking is a compilation of Cases and Commentaries arranged in Chapters as stated in the Law syllabus by the National Universities Commission (NUC) for Nigerian universities. It is a compulsory course for all students of law as it dwells on numerous cases involving banking issues and money disputes. The cases contained in this book will also take lecturers through some notable judicial decisions in banking.
The Casebook covers practical aspects of the law relating to various cases on banker-customer relationship, banker’s duty of secrecy, lodgment of cash in the bank, bank drafts, countermand of cheques, forged and unauthorized signatures on cheques, guarantee and indemnity, amongst many other related topics. The book maps out these various topics to assist all law students and legal practitioners as they read the course materials during their private study.

The author is a Professor of Law and has been a seasoned academic lecturer for many decades in Nigerian universities including the University of Maiduguri, University of Ilorin, Lagos State University and the National Open University. He is presently an academic staff at the Redeemer’s University, Ede.
